Oh, joy! Have you heard? Finally! I was so excited to see that Lalita Tademy's next novel is upon us, I had to share! I just loved her first novel CANE RIVER, so I'm one of the first in line to scoop up RED RIVER in January - I've pre-ordered!
If you haven't read CR, I highly, highly recommend it. It's out in mass market paperback now. It's a fabulously fictionalized story of Tademy's ancestry and will absolutely clutch you, then leave you in awe of LT's artistic talent.
Unfortunately, I was late to discover the magic of CANE RIVER. I ordered the book when Oprah picked it, but it ended up sitting in my TBR* pile for a couple years. When I finally picked it up, I discovered I'd been sitting on a 8x5" treasure! Well, I've learned my lesson. I can't wait to dive into RED RIVER!

Millenia, I read Cane River when it was announced on Oprah. It was a great story and I enjoyed the author's appearance on Oprah.

ReplyDeleteI loved Cane River. I have read it a few times and tried to get everyone that I know reads to pick it up. I am thinking about giving a few copies for Christmas. I can't wait til this book comes out. I am going to preorder as well.
